hi guys.,
this is what its been so far in Ahmadabad..
We are all given very good accommodation to start with. There is no AC or anything special to be mentioned.. but still the rooms are very spacious.. and neat. the hostel environment is very nice.. There are 6 blocks in whole with around 20 apartments in each. the total setup is within a campus which is maintained very neat. There is good space for walking, cricket etc. There is common tv for each block. which most times has mtv or other channels will be on in which hindi song videos are shown. Uniformity comes only wen cricket is going on. and i have been watching almost all matches here.
Reg, the office.. its been fine so far. It was programming, programming and programming .. Lot of tests take place almost every now and then in the name of batch meeting. apart its the 5 exams that matter finally. 2 exams are over so far. In the batch meeting(class tests) i scored 6 ducks out of 8 till now. The complaining part is that, for our batch’s training, it is computer evaluation. so this makes the whole thing difficult. If u get output, u are through. Else zero. no marks for all the crap that we write. Whatever it is, you’ll have lots of company with u even if its zero or 100. So, this keeps the hopes alive.
So far, every single weekend its been the highlight. N number of photos we have taken. plan is to upload them in picassa and send the links to all of u.. but there is no time to do it. reason being, we have to return hostel by 10.30 at night and net is accessible only at net centers. The time after office till 10.30 is occupied either in office itself or in dinner and it is very hard to find a empty system in the net centers here. Anyways the photos are uploaded on weekly basis and will soon reach you all.
Been to Mount abu last month. Had a great bike ride in the hills and it was like in bajaj avenger advertisement. Apart lots of temple, malls, parks etc. is been the destination for weekends. the amazing thing in here is even the temples, ashrams everything are perfect tourist spots loaded with awesome natural colors and sceneries. Also there is a mall which is twice or thrice spencers and it is a great change in me where I go almost everyweek and spend money getting new things.
I regularly go to balaji temple here every saturday and also there are many other temples nearby. I also went to a water theme park nearby and I learnt to float in water and swim across ten to fifteen feet distance. I’m able to manage food well so far. mostly its roti here. Health wise, there is nothing to worry and despite the chicken pox spree around, i’m maintaining the steel body and staying fine. Lost six kilograms due to the roti intake and reduction in the quantity of rice. There are south Indian hotels nearby but are comparatively costly.
Cost of living is very high here. as in, for food itself i need to spend 130 bucks each day. breakfast it comes to 20, lunch is std 30 bucks and dinner is also almost fixed 40 bucks. apart all this, to maintain body temp - buttermilk, fruits etc.. all together comes to 130 bucks. Being with fends here(hostel atmosphere), we often go to restaurants, which again is very costly, in and around here.
Between all this., my training gets over by June 14(mostly). Most definitely not possible to come to chennai bef that. miss ya all..
I will post on individual outings then and there….
