It was one of the new year resolutions to take the next step towards my passion for photography. And I made the right choice of joining basic digital photography course at Ambitions. The day 1 - March 13th, the introductory speech given by Sir(raja ponsing) made us think, “oh, so many things….am I too less for this course?”. But the heaviness was wiped out once we started the introductions of the participants and we were from class eleven students to retired officers. Just an hour after, we had our first tea break and after that, it was always - 41st batch ambitions basic photography! We made friends with each other within few days and were sharing many lighter moments during tea breaks, class hours(getting scolding from sir), after class hours and especially during outings!

The very first friends whom I gained there were Abhay, Mr.Nagarajan, Mr.Prasad, Balaji, Mr.Sivarkumar and Ramakrishnan. It was a great move from Mr.Prasad to lend us with brilliant world movies collection. I got the chance to see some really good movies. Nagarajan and his uncle have helped me a lot for the outings and the technical aspects in the absense of sir. I got in touch with Doctor Sundar (Well known for his flag pole pose!) to enquire about organ donation. So, it was a week or so and we formed a really good group. I got the chance to mingle with the “x-factor gang” of our batch headed by Bhargavi!

What a fun we had learning our passionate course. More than a class, it was a much different feel. Here are very good memories which are cherishable even after years:

> Bhargavi -The center of attraction in class, with her arrows of queries and experience (sometimes informative, sometimes arrrgghhh….) - the livewire

>Thavakkalai a.ka. Ganesh - The only person who gave me company with D40 and shout in middle of the class, “Sir, D40 la indha feature illa sir @?#$%”

>Doctor Sunder - Wow! He is one of the gems for our batch. Down to earth, awesome knowledge, Still remembers Focal length formula studies in physics class. And thanks doc for answering my queries on organ donation and blood donation.

> Thiru sir - Tea! Starting with his comments on the taste of tea in the break to his comments on the IPL matches, he has his own style of waving his hand with tea in his other hand - catchy!

> Sir’s Birthday - We will never forget the surprise celebration. Kudos to bargs and co who secretly devised it.

> My comment to one of the review photos - “Ennadhu indra gandhi sethutangala!!”. Dunno which timing it was, but made entire class laugh.

> Gopal - Saroja padam vaibhav. Ya he resembles him with slight modifications here and there. Started as a photographer and ended as a subject in the last outing!

> Jayaram - “Seeing it on a different perspective” nu ivaru arambicha podhum.. ada ada… manusan ennama yosanai pannuvaru theriyuma… Really… he is Live wire -2!

> Prasad sir - Expert knowledge in world movies. Has a great collection. Love the discussions about the shots he loved in the movies which he gives every week.

> Ramakrishnan - A person with passion integrated with family committments. Will surely reach great heights for his deep down interest and love towards the art. So kind and soft natured fellow.

> Archana lakshmanan iyer- Iyere..venam iyere venam iyere kinda gal. Modern, bold, breaking the cultural barriers, smoking, enthu planning of leh rock concert. Generally these kinda gals look so odd for me and i hate them completely coz i claimed myself to be the culture guard to TN u see!! Archana - Exception.. Reason - Really dunno!!

> Kalyan - The moving encyclopedia of ebooks and tutorials. Generous enough to share it with all of us even hours together after the class. And yeah, for discount on Indian terrain garments, contact him!

>You can add more to these and make this a better post! Non - Ambitions4 frens comments also welcome!

To sum up, I have gained more good persons around me in addition to the photography inputs. Thanks Ambitions4!

This post refers to the credit for which Chetan bhagat and Vidhu vinodh chopra are fighting for.

Bhagat should see the following people and that may provide him some solace.

* the millions working in MNCs where it is a day-to-day activity of someone else taking the credit for the work which one had done.

* Dr.Vijay(vettaikaran) taking the credit for Directors’ movie like Ghilli and poor commercial stuff.

* Shanthanu(k.bagyaraj’s son) taking the credit for his first film being a hit instead of giving the credits to A.R.Rahman.

* Music Directors Deva,Harris jayaraj,Yuvan taking the credit for their copied tunes from BSB,MJ,Corrs etc.

* Politicians taking the credit of building flyovers and subways just by opening the already constructed ones.

* Police taking the credit and boasting for catching Ajmal kasab and feeding him spending crores for getting him biriyani and ensuring he stays healthy

* Cuckoo taking the credit the more popular word “Cuckoo’s nest” for the crow’s nest which it utilizes for time being.

*J.K.Rowling getting so much fame for writing a english version of good old Indian fantasy works of Vitalacharya.

So, It is not a new habit of some one else taking the credit. But both are getting equal and free publicity because of this issue. We can also blame VVC. He has spend so much on a movie, why not put a extra line in credits? Altogether, VVC has produced an awesome movie and a more exciting controversy!

3 Idiots
icon1 admin | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 12 28th, 2009| icon38 Comments »

We can relate very few movies with our lives and one such is “3 idiots”. I had the satisfaction of watching a very good movie after a long time. The “Lage raho munnabhai” Director has once again given a fine movie with a excellent message.

First of all, the movie is not based on Chetan bhagat’s “five point someone”. It is loosely coupled on the book for the basic plot and very few scenes here and there. But altogether the movie is more brilliant than the book. The plot is spindled around three students of Imperial college of engineering, Delhi. “All is well. So, do what you like to do” is the one liner of the movie.

All who have been in the movie have done their part really well. The songs are also very well written with meaningful lyrics and pleasant music adds beauty to it. The camera angles and light exposures have got the spotlight when it brings the pen picture of Shimla and ladakh. A very good team work which has come out in a splendid manner.

College,Friends,Ragging,Love,Engineering,Sudden Sadness and above all FUN are few words which can be tagged with the movie. A movie which is a must watch for all and it is for sure worth your money and time. I have made this review very small because of the lack of confidence on myself. The more i type, i may write spoilers. So enjoy the 3 idiots and their very good message to life.

Lying
icon1 admin | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 12 22nd, 2009| icon37 Comments »

Lie,Bit,reel, dagalti, buruda are words with different meanings……

This post is on the habit of lying which each of us have in abundance(Excuse me if you are Mr.Harischandra or the equivalent female form). We start lying from our childhood and even our education system teaches it as our basics with the good old “Johny johny yes papa”.

It is not we naturally tell a lie, but the small happiness which we get in fooling someone is something inexpressible. In our primary classes when a cute girl(from same class) tells you that she has two bikes in her home, it is the instant reaction to say, “Only bikes ah…waste… i have 2 cars in my home!”.

So from all the way from childhood we grow with this great habit. But you will surely be inspired and awestruck by few who are far ahead of your lying skills. This post is dedicated to the best of them whom i have met in my life so far.

1) Who: Thilaka(till date haven’t heard another girl having that name)
When: When i was in 5th standard
What: Countless lies piled up. She was the best in making people believe. The point which she first said is that her brother is a close friend of Ajit(south indian actor.. compared on par with Vijay(if you don’t know vijay..then for sure earth will be destroyed in 2012)). She brought a photo of a person standing with Ajit and said it was her brother. Only after an year i saw an old Tamizh daily(daily thanthi) where i saw the same photo. It was captioned, “Ajit with his first films’ cameraman”. It was then i knew she lied. But till then all of us in the class believed whatever she said. 15000 square feet bungalow,12 cars(each in one color..we knew only 12 colors in sketch pen set those days), Whales in fish tanks, jayalalitha came to their house etc. Best of all was, the street where she lived was “Thilakar street”. You know what she would have told for this!!!!

2) Who: Dinesh(poonai,cat)
When: Higher Secondary
What: He was a tech geek. Even when we go to P.T period(games), he used to stay away framing his next set of lies. The best thing is that he struck to Computers and Gaming world. His lies are one among the best i have heard. The list is as follows:

* If you don’t have your CD working, use your ink pen and paint it around the circumference of the CD and it will start working..

* If you keep pressing the eject button of CD rom, you will see the 48x disappearing and 52x will appear…also the speed of the CD rom will change

* Once he by mistake inserted a game CD in VCD player.. There was a message which said, “You could get the CD back only if you finish 3 levels”. So, after struggling with the controls, Dinesh finished 3 levels playing with the CD players remote control!!!!

3) Who: Sambashiva
When: College
What: He was a prodigy in lying. The spontaneity is his specialty. His lies keeps flowing for no reason. But he will end it up in such a way that though you know he is lying, you will believe.

There is no single thing which you can state as his special bit(lie). Because he lives among them. No matter where he is, no matter who are around, he keeps going on with his instant bits. This capacity of samba has saved us many times from our Hod(who happens to be my next big inspiration in this list :D ).

The list will surely be updated in future as I meet more people. And I’m also sure that I will be one among the top three if anyone of my friends write on the same post. What if no one writes? As usual, I will myself write a seperate post on it.

Discontinue..
icon1 admin | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 12 8th, 2009| icon311 Comments »

Discontinu ing a work is one habit which I had from my childhood. Ofcourse, you can say it is a natural process and also quote breastfeeding discontinued at least by the age of 5. (leaving out exceptions like my childhood house owner’s son. The owner boasts on his son been breastfed till age of 8…contradictions with science??)

But this habit of discontinuing is something which almost everyone has in them. Then why write it as a seperate post? To keep up the words -”Back to blogging!”. So coming back to the subject, i first discontinued the habit of allowing my house owner to do STD calls in our landline phone. I was so innocent that i used to remove the wire from the box and say that the phone is out of order. Once they go down, i will put it back and start calling wrong numbers.

The next one i would like to mention is learning of guitar. I started it with a great passion to play “Ilaya nila” song. I learnt very eagerly that the guitar master himself praised me as a quick learner. But since i was not able to play in the evening time, i discontinued the classes.

I have discontinued many crushes from moving to the next stage. The main reason was fear. Once again notifying the fact that i’m innocent. Till date, i had more than a dozen of crushes(all one side) and even now there is one going on. No doubt i will discontinue this too!!(I cannot dance bhangra!)

The twelfth standard holidays was the best time to discontinue many more! I joined keyboard classes and left it for
the reason of my dad telling me to do stage shows and bring money just after 3 weeks of me joining the classes. I left the most precious power of mine which is “Mugging up”. Till my higher secondary i will mug up even the verses in the foreword or to be more terrific till the lines, “This book was printed on 80GSM paper”. But the entire six months of gap where i was completely indulged with cricket, made me discontinue the holy power.

I was not even able to hold a pen properly when i went for the admission in college. I wrote my name for so long time that the person got irritated and told me to just write the name and other details can be filled up later.

We had poker nights on regular basis and it haunted us so much that every week i used to message every one with brilliant announcements and clinches. But now the poker set is sleeping with my discontinued game boards.

The habit of discontinuing went so powerful that now i have discontinued the habit itself. Now, it is laziness which is haunting me.

To be discontinued….

I’m back!

Everyone who were reading my blog on a regular basis, would have got frustated seeing the “back to blogging” kinda posts. Believe me, its not my fault that I am not able to keep posting on a regular basis. It is some phenomenon which exists in nature which makes you stop doing things the moment you think to do it.

So, what for the post content this time? Once again personal experiences? Or some lyrics copy pasted from some website? No, this time it is going to be about the recovery process of my blog.

It was the three months period in Ahmedabad during my training i completely lost contact with my blog. Though i pretended to post regularly, i was not actually doing it. I often saw “Page not displayed”, “Mallicious content detected”, “Server not found” messages which came in a random order.

It was Sano, the network admin for our so called group who traced and said those three words..”Site is hacked”. And he tried all loop holes which he could find in wordpress and finally got back my blog for 2 hours. But I don’t know what sin i did for that hacker in my last birth that he rehacked it within 3 hours and my blog remained as a static page for another 3 months. Now once again, it is said to be recovered till it is re-rehacked by that same punyathma.

Since my blog is back, recovered, I am going to start posting on a regular basis. People I am back to blogging…(start reading once again from First para)

God of cricket

The god of cricket Sachin tendulkar created history at Mohali today. He placed a shot in the off side to run two runs to reach the pinnacle of glory in history of world cricket. He is now the most run getter in test cricket. He has three more records of most number of centuries in odi and test and most number of runs in odi too. Let thousands of controversies arise against him, he is the best. We love you sachin and no one can even come near you. He is really the master of cricket and even if anyone beats his record in future, no doubt that he will remain as the god of cricket forever in the minds of all those who have cricket as their passion. Go on sachin, you have many more records to create!
